Geologists have always marveled at the rich saturation of minerals that abound the Ovens Natural Park. It was the well pronounced quartz veins running through cliffs that first indicated the gold potential at Ovens in the 1860’s. Scenic hiking trails follow the coastline and allow visitors access into both Tucker’s Tunnel and Cannon Cave.
